Mohamed Salah has one major different quality at Liverpool than he did at Chelsea - Drogba

DIDIER DROGBA believes Mohamed Salah’s confidence is sky-high right now and he has noticed one glaring giveaway.

The Egypt international has been a revelation at Anfield this season and is currently the top scorer in the Premier League with 13 goals in just 16 matches.

It’s a stark contrast to the Salah that donned the Chelsea shirt just two years ago.

He struggled to break into the first team after Jose Mourinho brought him to Stamford Bridge from Basel.

But a successful stint in Italy with Fiorentina and Roma resulted in him earning a second chance in the English top flight and the 25-year-old is flourishing.

I can tell by his celebrations that he knows what he's doing now

Didier Drogba

And Drogba has seen a drastic change in Salah’s confidence, evident in the way he celebrates his goals.

"He's becoming a boss and a leader - we've seen it in the national team and seen it at Liverpool," Drogba told the BBC.

"I can tell by his celebrations that he knows what he's doing now, he's not going crazy but just sticking his tongue out to say, 'yeah it's me'."

He added: ”He can bring a lot of his leadership and his experience, that he is learning at Liverpool and with the national team [to the team in Russia].

"You know for him playing in a lot of big competitions will help him to be among the best players in Europe and during the World Cup

"Mo Salah on his own cannot win the World Cup but if all his team-mates are at the level the continent expects them to be, then Mo Salah can be a fantastic player and be one of the stars in this competition."
