| | Hazaribagh | in Ranchi

After making raids in the DTO office, JP central jail and  PDS shops  as well as taking  action against illegal occupants of the Government land,  SDO Hazaribagh IAS Aditya Ranjan surprised the coal transporters on Monday night. With DTO and other officials, he started a checking drive near Demotand situated on NH-33 on Monday evening and checked more than 100 trucks between 11pm to 4am. The team seized 70 trucks loaded with either coal or coal powder.

This step has created panic amongst the coal traders and transporters of Hazaribagh and Ramgarh districts who used       to send coal to UP and Bihar. When the SDO started his checking drive, within hours the news spread in entire area and many trucks loaded with coal or coal powder were stopped by the owners or drivers before Demotand. But by that time more than 100 trucks which had already entered into the area were caught by the team members.

SDO and other officials thoroughly checked the papers of the vehicles, driving licenses of the drivers and measures taken by the transporter to minimize pollution. Most of the trucks loaded with coal or coal powder were found transporting it without any cover and as per rule it is necessary to cover such items. It was also found that many drivers were driving the vehicles without proper license. Some drivers who looked to be minor were taken into custody by the team which included DTO Prabhat Kumar, executive magistrate Kumud Kumar Jha, Traffic inspector Manish Chandra Lal and others.
