DUBAI: People of determination shall be allocated special space at the busiest places where people converge to celebrate New Year, announced the Dubai Police preparatory committee.
The committee asked Emaar to allocate places specially for people of determination to “enjoy and follow the firecrackers as others do.”
Emaar runs Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and a number of entities in the vicinity that makes up Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, perhaps the world’s most crowded place during New year eve.
FREE SHUTTLES
According to the Director of the General Directorate of Security of Organisations, Establishments and Emergency, Brigadier Abdullah Ali Al-Ghaithi, there will be free shuttles to move people from designated places such as spaces for Eid prayers (Eid Musallah); Meydan, Zaabeel Park, and Al Wasl Club.
The committee comprises, among others, the Assistant Director General for Fire and Rescue Affairs, Brigadier Rashid Khalifa Al Musem, and representation from all bodies and institutions in the Government of Dubai.
Brigadier General Al-Ghaithi also stressed on the media committee to broadcast awareness messages to the public and in different languages to show them the places allocated as car parks: Al-Eid Mosque, Medan, Al Wasl Club and Zabeel Park.
For his part, Brigadier General Humar called on Emaar to provide a dedicated place for label owners so that they can enjoy the celebration of New Year’s Day, in the interest of the General Command of Dubai Police for their participation in all activities.
