CHENNAI: Nida Rehman’s 3/12 and Niranjana Nagarajan’s 32 took Tamil Nadu to a two-wicket win against Odisha in their BCCI women’s senior one-day league fixture, in Cuttack. Sujata Malik was the pick of the bowlers for the losing team, finishing the day with 3/25.

Brief scores: Odisha 124 in 41.5 ovs (Nida Rehman 3/12) lost to Tamil Nadu 125/8 in 41.5 ovs (Niranjana Nagarajan 32; Sujata Malik 3/25). Pts: Tamil Nadu 4 (6), Odisha 0 (6).

Rohit propels RYA Cosmo

Rohit’s 87 was the feature of RYA Cosmo’s 37-run win against RCC Platinum in the Ensol-Elite Super Sixes cricket tournament held at Chennai Citi Centre mall.

This year’s edition has 10 teams in the fray, which is two more than last year. The tournament is being played in a league-cum-knockout format.

Centuries by B Sai Sudharsan and S Mohana Kumar helped Tamil Nadu clinch three points via first-innings lead against Goa, as their Vijay Merchant Trophy U-16 clash in Hyderabad ended in a draw.

A massive fire broke out at a biscuit factory near Bairamalguda in the LB Nagar limits, Hyderabad in the early hours of Tuesday.The fire department was alerted immediately by the locals who noticed the flames and the fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames.With the fire so massive, two more fire tenders were called in to bring the situation under control.
