Light to moderate rain/snow has been forecast at a few places in Uttarakhand for three days and more. Snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitude of 3000 metres and above. The Meteorological centre director Bikram Singh attributed it to western disturbances approaching the state. He said that it might rain in Dehradun and other parts of the state starting from late Monday evening and continuing till Tuesday noon. It would be followed by another rainy spell from Wednesday, said Singh, adding that the rain would result in dip in the maximum temperature by a few notches while the minimum would be hovering in the normal.
On Monday, the maximum temperature and minimum temperatures were recorded 26.2 degree Celsius , four degree above normal, and 10.3, three degree above normal, respectively in Dehradun. In Pantnagar, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded are 28.0 degree Celsius and 8.0 degree Celsius respectively.
