ALLAHABAD: A group of student leaders of Allahabad University, led by Neeraj Pratap Singh, protested at the main gate (central library gate) of the Arts campus, on Tuesday. The agitated student leaders stood in front of the vice-chancellor's car following which the security guards somehow managed to take the VC inside the campus.
According to the officiating proctor of AU, Prof R S Singh, as the VC's car was about to enter the main campus of AU, a group of student leaders, led by Neeraj Pratap Singh came in front of the car. The student leaders lied down on the road in front of his car. The proctor also alleged that the protesting student leaders tried to manhandle the VC and used abusive language.
Neeraj has already been rusticated by the varsity administration and his entry on the campus has been banned for the period of Five year.
The officiating proctor has written to the colonelganj police to register an FIR against the student leader. "We have received the application and have registered an FIR against Neeraj and his associate under section 143 of the IPC", said inspector Colonelganj.
