Woman strangled to death in Noakhali; 2 held

Noakhali: A woman was strangled to death allegedly by her husband at Rehania village in Hatiya upazila on Tuesday morning.

Deceased Sharmin Akter, 20, was the wife of Mosharraf Hossain, 28.

Local people said Mosharraf was married to Sharmin six moths ago.

The couple locked into an altercation on Monday night. Later, family members found Sharmin's body into their room.

The victim's father Abul Kashem alleged that Mosharraf tortured Sharmin often after their marriage. He strangled Sharmin to death.

Hatiya Police Station OC Kamruzzaman Sikdar said on information, they went to the spot and recovered the body.

Mosharraf went into hiding after the incident. Police detained his father and mother in this connection, he said.
