Just days to go until The Last Jedi hits the big screen.

Star Wars fans are desperate to know who Rey's parents are, who or what Snoke really is and whether Finn and Poe will ever rekindle their bromance.

But there is also a disturbance in the Force as conflicted fans demand different characters return for the highly rumoured Force ghost scene. Yoda, Anakin and Obi-Wan have all been famously shown as Force ghosts in the iconic Return of The Jedi funeral scene.

However, a recently deleted tweet from a special effects company seemed to reveal the identity of which famous old character could be returning.

Conflicting reports from the last year had insisted that both Hayden Christensen and a full Yoda puppet had been spotted at the Star Wars UK Pinewood sets. 

This was taken as proof that either Christensen's young Anakin/Vader would be making an appearance in Episode 8 or the ancient Jedi master, Yoda. Frank Oz also fanned the flames by cryptically avoiding comments on whether he had voiced the Yoda role again.

A few days ago, a lighting company in the US which works on major blockbusters tweeted that they had recently "illuminated" an iconic Star Wars character. The tweet was almost immediately taken down, but nothing ever disappears on socia media.

Digital Sputnik was proudly promoting their work on the upcoming Biblical epic Mary Magdalene. They posted: "We've just realised we have illuminated Jesus and Yoda."

Star Wars Youtube channel Mike Zeroh has revealed the deleted tweet and combined it with other possibly revealing recent developments.

Does this mean Yoda could really be returning? If so, why?

Various theories and leaks have claimed that he will appear to Luke or Rey on Ahch-To to reveal secrets about the Force and the ancient Jedi. However, other strong theories insist that Anakin will return to help Luke or lecture Kylo Ren on the error of his ways.

Fans have tweeted today with one sounding very confident: "Calling it now. Yoda’s force ghost appears in the Jedi temple. "

Another added: "Goooodddd, it’s only 3 more days away!!!!! I hope Master Yoda appears as a force ghost."

Surprisingly, fans seem to want Anakin even more than Yoda. One declared: "If force ghost Anakin is in The Last Jedi I'm gonna have to bring tissues and a pair of underwear."

Others agreed with comments like: "Star Wars is literally Anakin’s story and if he isn’t in TLJ as a force ghost or anything it’ll be so dumb like they’ve brought him back with the lightsaber and Kylo wanting to talk to him. They gotta finish that arc."
