EastEnders spoilers: Fan-favourite makes explosive return to RUIN Max Branning’s life
EASTENDERS viewers had an almighty shock last night as a fan-favourite returned to wreak havoc on Max Branning.
In the episode, Max (played by Jake Wood) had been hoping to be reunited with his son Oscar to celebrate his birthday.
But he didn’t get the present he was wishing for as his former mother-in-law Cora Cross (played by Ann Mitchell) unexpectedly turned up at his house instead.
A furious Cora arrived on his doorstep after receiving a phone call from Denise Fox (Diane Parish) who told her about Max’s turn to the dark side.
The grandmother of Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) and Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) revealed his ex-wife Tanya (Jo Joyner) also knows about his vengeful plans to destroy the Square.

As she burst through the front door, she told Max: ”You're wasting your time," as he peered out looking for his son.
She continued: ”Tanya knows. I had a very interesting phone call with Denise this morning. I mean you’ve done some pretty low things, but this…”
Cora then declared to a devastated Max that he would never see his son Oscar again.
Those watching the BBC soap were thrilled with Cora’s return with some asking her to make a full-time comeback.
