Ozil is out of contract in the summer and is expected to leave the club.

Manchester United and Barcelona have been linked with moves in January and next summer.

It emerged today that Arsenal were set to try and negotiate a deal one final time as they look to try and keep the Germany World Cup winner.

And Wenger has confirmed the talks are open.

“Negotiations are always going on with everybody,” he said. 

“Our door is always open. For the rest, I can not tell you much more.”

Ozil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for £42m but they face the prospect of losing him for nothing in the summer if they cannot agree new deals.

Arsenal have offered him around double his current £140,000 a week wage, but Ozil is yet to sign up.

Jose Mourinho is a fan, having worked with him at Real Madrid, and is looking into a deal.

While Barcelona view him as a cut-price back to Philippe Coutinho.

Ozil has lacked consistency at Arsenal, showing flashes of brilliance, but often frustrating. 

The 29-year-old has two goals and five assists this season in 13 appearances.
