Queen Elizabeth, 91, is one of the most well-travelled monarchs in British history.
During her 65-year reign, she has visited over 130 countries around the world, representing the United Kingdom.
Since taking the throne in 1952, she has been on a number of state visits to promote friendly relations with the UK.
Her first state visit was to a certain Nordic country for a specific reason.

Queen Elizabeth visited Norway in June 1955, her first state visit after being crowned
Queen Elizabeth visited Norway in June 1955, her first state visit after being crowned.
She may have chosen this country due to her close relationship with the royal family of Norway.
She is second cousins with King Harald V of Norway, who has been in power since 1991.
This is due to Edward VII, Queen Elizabeth’s great-grandfather, whose daughter Maude married King Haakon VII from Norway.
The close bond with the Norwegian royal family also extends to Sweden as well, due to sharing an ancestor with Queen Victoria.

Back in 2001, Her Majesty spoke of the close ties to Norway at a state banquet with King Harald.
She remarked: "Your Majesty, we are proud of our kinship and common heritage with Norway.
"We are equally proud of the richness and diversity of our modern relationship. Our cultural ties are also strong.
"Norway seems to have a large appetite for the works of British artists of every kind from Brit Art to Brit Pop."
"Our kinship and our common heritage now underpin a rich and diverse relationship as advanced industrial societies.
"This is what makes Britain and Norway such natural partners."

It is thought that Prince William and Kate Middleton will visit Norway in February 2018 on a royal tour.
The tour could be part of a “Brexit diplomacy” trip, with Norway being part of the EU single market.
The couple were meant to visit this year, but due to Kate suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum - a severe form of morning sickness - it was rescheduled.
When they arrive in the Nordic country, Kate will be very far into her pregnancy.
