Qatar invited to Gulf summit in Kuwait

(MENAFN)Kuwaiti state media reported that Qatar was invited on Thursday to a summit of Gulf countries next week, held in Kuwait, the first such invitation after months of the Saudi-led diplomatic boycott of Doha.

AFP quoted the Kuwaiti state-run KUNA news agency, saying that Qatar's Emir Shaikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani has been invited to the Gulf Cooperation Council summit on December 5 and 6.

Qatar was boycotted by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, in June, over Doha support to terrorism and its close ties to Iran.

The GCC was founded in 198, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, as well as Kuwait and Oman, for boosting the political and economic cooperation between the mentioned countries.
