Boy with ageing condition dies in Magura

Magura: The five and-a-half-year old Bayezid Hossain, who looks like an 80-year-old man due to the premature ageing condition progeria, died at Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH) on Monday evening.

Family sources said, Bayezid was buried at his village graveyard at Khalia in Mohammadpur upazila on Tuesday.

Bayezid's father Lavlu Shikder said his son had been suffering from various ailments like breathing problem, swollen face, wrinkled skin, hollow eyes, aching joints and other old-age related problems.

The child was admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital on Sunday evening before being shifted to the FMCH where he died around 7:30pm, Dr. Debashish Biswas, medicine consultant of the hospital, said.

Bayezid was diagnosed with progeria, a genetic disease, on May 29, 2017, at Magura Sadar Hospital. But the doctors later suggested to send him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.
