Tom Brady threw two interceptions and was held without a third-down conversion Monday night, and the host Dolphins snapped New England’s winning streak at eight games with a 27-20 victory.

Miami (6-7) kept the Patriots (10-3) from clinching their ninth consecutive AFC East title for at least one more game.

“It was a bad night,” Brady said. “We’ve had a lot of good nights this year. This was a bad night.”

Brady was 24-for-43 passing for 233 yards and one touchdown. Miami sacked him twice, hit him five times and held the Patriots to 25 yards rushing. New England was 0-for-11 on third down.

“Our focus every game is to hit the quarterback as hard as we can and make him uncomfortable,” Miami defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh said. “I think we did a pretty good job of it.”

The Dolphins’ Jay Cutler threw for 263 yards and three scores, including two to Jarvis Landry. Kenyan Drake had 114 yards rushing and 79 receiving.

A Brady touchdown pass cut the deficit to 10 points with 13 minutes left, but the Patriots’ next three possessions netted 5 yards. After a New England field goal, Miami sealed the victory by recovering an onside kick with 53 seconds to go.

“This gives us a boost,” Cutler said. “Winning is what keeps you in this game. The locker room after a game, there’s nothing like it.”

Injury report: The Eagles confirmed that quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a torn left ACL on Sunday and will miss the rest of the season. He was injured when he was hit as he dived into the end zone during Philadephia’s 43-35 win over the Rams.

The injury elevates Nick Foles to the starting QB role for the Eagles.

“The reason we got Nick Foles is for situations like this. I’m excited for Nick,” head coach Doug Pederson said. “I hate it for Carson Wentz. I hate it for the season that he’s been having. But at the same time, it’s been the next-man-up mentality and that’s how we approach it.”

•Jets quarterback Josh McCown will miss the rest of the season with a broken left hand that will require surgery.

Bryce Petty will start in McCown’s place at New Orleans on Sunday, with Christian Hackenberg the backup.

•Arizona starting left tackle Jared Veldheer is out for the remainder of the season with a fractured ankle.

•The Packers’ team doctor is evaluating tests on Aaron Rodgers’ surgically repaired right collarbone to determine if the quarterback can return for Green Bay’s game against Carolina on Sunday.

Savage decision: Houston head coach Bill O’Brien said Monday that he wouldn’t have let Tom Savage re-enter Sunday’s game against the 49ers after a hit that gave him a concussion and left the quarterback’s hands shaking if he had seen the video of the hit.

Savage was injured with about nine minutes remaining in the second quarter of the Texans’ 26-16 loss when he was driven to the ground on a hit by Elvis Dumervil. Replays showed Savage looking dazed after his head hit the ground with both of his arms shaking and lifted upward.

He went to the medical tent for less than three minutes before returning to the bench and going back in for a series.

An NFL spokesman said the league is looking into whether concussion protocol was properly followed.
