Palliative wards in eleven hospitals in district soon

Eleven hospitals in the district are set to have special palliative wards for patients requiring secondary care.

A palliative and medical service society, ‘Sneham’ registered by the district panchayat is behind this.

There will be separate ward for men and women, with a minimum of five beds in each ward.

Individuals, organisations and panchayats can become members of the society, District Panchayat president V.K. Madhu said.

The ‘sneham’ society will have its office in the District Medical Office compound here.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the society on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at a function in the District Medical Office compound, a pressnote said.

District Panchayat’s other welfare schemes like ‘Sneham Madhuram’,‘Sneha Sparsham’ and Tri-scooter for differently-abled will also be inaugurated at the function.
