Ronnie O’Sullivan is compared to the ‘Ready Brek man’ by John Higgins
FOUR-TIME world snooker champion John Higgins has made a strange claim that Ronnie O’Sullivan was like the ‘Ready Brek man’ when he was 15 years old.
O’Sullivan clinched a record-equalling sixth UK Snooker Championship win yesterday by beating Shaun Murphy 10-5 in the final.
The victory comes 24 years after he first won the competition as a 17-year-old back in 1993.
The Brit later said that he still feels like he can continue to play on well into his 60s.
And Higgins, who has been battling O’Sullivan for the world title in recent years, said he spotted O’Sullivan’s talent from a young age.
He then went on to compare him to the Ready Brek mascot Ready Eddie for his glowing presence he brings to the sport.

"He is a different class," Higgins told Eurosport.
"I knew at 15 when I first seen him play that he was going to be the best player in the world.
"There is just something about him.
“He is like the Ready Brek man: he has that glow about him when he is at the table.

"Whatever he does, doesn't surprise me. He is such a tough animal to play nowadays.
“Even he admits it I think because he would maybe throw the toys out of the pram a little bit a few years ago.
"Now he is just the complete player. He is a tougher player to play.
“I don't know if he is a better player, but is a tougher opponent to beat. It's as simple as that."
