The BJD will celebrate its 20th foundation day on December 26 at Puri, the pilgrim town of the State.
A State-level convention would be held at Talabania at 10 am on December 26 (Tuesday), informed the party’s State secretary Bijay Nayak in a statement. Registration would begin at 9 am, said Nayak.
He said preparations have already started for the proposed meeting. Around 25 to 30 thousand party workers will join the meeting. Leaders belonging to all wings of the party will remain present.
Notably, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) was formed on December 26, 1997 after the sad demise of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, who is also the father of BJD supremo-cum-Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Party chief Patnaik has called upon all workers and elected leaders to join the convention and take oath to involve in the ‘Development Journey of the Coming Odisha’.
