Officials join poll duty in Mahisagar

Vadodara: As many as 31 officials of the Mahisagar district joined election duty only after being issued warrants by the district collector. The officials began training for the polling in the district.


Sources in the district administration said that the officials from different departments had not turned up for a meeting for the elections. They were issued notices after this, but did not respond. Eventually, warrants were issued against them.


An official said that the officials reported for duty on Monday evening. Following this warrants against them were withdrawn. This is the second incident of its kind in central Gujarat. Earlier, warrants were issued to officials in Vadodara district.TNN
