Government approves contracts for new projects worth 2.1 billion Afghanis

The Afghan government has approved contracts for the new projects worth during around 2.1 billion Afghanis, according to the Office of the President, ARG Palace.
The contracts were approved during the meeting of the National Procurement Commission (NPC) chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
A statement by the ARG Palace stated that contracts for five new projects were approved during the latest meeting on Monday.
The projects approved during the meeting include construction of road from Shorabak to Spin Boldak in Kandahar, road construction in Dara-e-Suf district of northern Samangan province.
Other projects approved during the meeting include procurement of reinforcement material consisting 24,000 pieces for areas affected by natural disasters in 24 provinces.
The meeting also approved the contract for the purchase of insurance coverage for the Ariana Afghan Airlines planes, workers, staff, and passengers.
According to ARG Palace, the NPC also approved the modification of the contract for the survey of Jabal Saraj to Nejrab.
Other contracts approved during the meeting include extension of the contract period for road construction project from Chah Anjer in Helmand to Greshk and extension of survey project for Kabul-Jalalabad highway.
