Pedestrian Hit and Killed in Amherst

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y.-- One man is dead after being hit by a car.

Amherst Police say around 9:24 p.m. on Monday, 64 year old Michael Boncore of Williamsville was walking across a parking lot on Main Street, between N. Forest Road and N. Union Road, in Williamsville when he was struck by a car driven by 23-year-old Justine Bessinger of Buffalo.

Boncore was taken to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It's not clear if Bessinger will face charges at this time.

Police are investigating the accident and are asking anyone with information to call the Amherst Police Department at 689-1311.
