WAUSAU, Wis., (WSAW)-- Naughty or Nice – Wisconsin Cheese has you covered this Christmas!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year because the holidays are quickly approaching! Start planning for seasonal entertaining and eating with inspiration from the new holiday issue of Grate Pair Share magazine.
We have a real pasture to plate mentality in Wisconsin, so Grate Pair Share gives readers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the hardworking dairy farmers who produce our high-quality milk, the local cheesemakers who use that milk to create award-winning specialty cheeses and the culinary artists who proudly create deliciously, cheese filled recipes.
On Tuesday, December 12th Beth Schaefer from the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board demonstrated how to prepare a Holiday 3-D Tree Cheese Board and Cheese Balls Three Ways.
Cheeseballs are a holiday party staple that never goes out of style. It is easy to make and endlessly adaptable.
Easy Steps to Create Your Own Cheeseball
1) Start with equal parts Cream Cheese and Wisconsin Cheese. For a bigger flavor, reach for bigger, bolder cheeses such as an aged cheddar, spicy pepperjack or creamy blue.
2) Customize with chopped nuts, dried fruits, fresh herbs and spices.
3) Roll the ball in more of the same and serve!
Tuesday's cheeseball is Cranberry Blue Cheese. Equal parts Crystal Farms Cream Cheese, Salemville Blue Cheese, Dried Wisconsin Cranberries and sliced almonds.
