Search and rescue operations on trace missing soldiers. Five soldiers were reported missing after avalanches hit two Army posts on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Search and rescue operations are in progress to trace the soldiers who have gone missing at two different places in north Kashmir’s area along Line of Control.
Defence spokesperson told media that the missing soldiers are yet to be traced and the teams are working in difficult mountainous terrain and hostile weather conditions.
He added that the Special Rescue Teams are currently engaged in the operations to accomplish the task of tracing the missing soldiers.
Three soldiers went missing after snow avalanche hit the army camp along LoC in Bagtore Kanzalwan area of north Kashmir’s Gurez sector in Bandipora district.
Two more soldiers slipped down the slope in Nowgam Handwara sector in Kupwara district in north Kashmir after snow avalanche hit the army post in the sector.
In view of the weather advisory, the state government has also made arrangements with around 150 snow clearance machines deployed besides establishing round the clock control rooms in each district in Kashmir region.
