Flamboyant southpaw Yuvraj Singh turns 36; wishes galore on Twitter

Chandigarh: If we have to credit just one player for the memorable 2007 T20I and 2011 50-over World Cup victories, he will be none other than Yuvraj Singh, who is celebrating his 36th birthday today.

The all-rounder who fought against cancer to lead India to cricketing glory in 2011 always used to be at his best on the ground whenever provoked by the opposition.

No Cricket fan across the world would ever be able to forget the moment when Yuvraj Singh sent frontline English bowler Stuart Broad out of the park six times in an over during the 2007 Twenty20 International World Cup.

The flamboyant southpaw had shot to fame after playing a brilliant match-winning knock during the 2002 Natwest Trophy final. He played many match winning innings during the 2011 World Cup and also proved handy with the ball. He, however, suffered a severe medical condition immediately after the conclusion of the cricketing extravaganza that was later diagnosed as cancer.

But keeping up with his on-field fighting spirit in real life also, he also defeated the deadly disease and returned to the Indian playing XI.

Apart from the above mentioned stats, Yuvraj Singh also holds the record for fastest half-century in T20Is. He had completed his fifty off just 12 deliveries in the same match when he hit Broad for six sixes in an over.

Apart from his records with the bat, he has also taken 148 international wickets with his left-arm spin.

He got hitched to Bollywood actress Hazel Keech on November 29, 2016.

Currently, the fighter of the Indian Cricket is toiling hard to maintain fitness at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to claim a re-entry into the Indian national side.
