Veteran star batsman, Yuvraj Singh, turns 36 today. The champion cricketer known for his all-round skills and ability to swing a boundary at will has been part of 40 Tests, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is.

Yuvi had been part of few international Tests, scoring 1900 runs during 40 of the Tests he played, averaging at 33.92, with a highest score of 169.

On the other hand, he enjoyed a brilliant short-format cricket having played 304 ODIs, with 8701 runs to his name at an average of 36.55. Yuvraj's ODI career includes 14 centuries and 52 half centuries.

2007 World T20 is a memory etched in cricket history and holds a special place in Yuvi's heart.

This is where while playing England, he went on to hit six sixes, in an over off Stuart Broad's bowling, becoming the first player to do so in T20I.

Here, he also made a record for fastest fifty in T20I history hitting 50 in 12 balls.

Cancer and comeback

Yuvraj was diagnosed with cancer post the 2011 World Cup.

He underwent treatment in the US and recovered fully in March 2012.

Following his discharge, he made a comeback in the Indian team and performed fairly well.

Since 2012, he has played 30 ODIs, scoring his career highest total (150) in 2017, and 35 T20Is. His last appearance for India was in June 2017.


A fifty and a 5-wicket haul in World Cup

Yuvi is the only player to score a fifty and also have a five-wicket haul in the same match in a World Cup. He achieved this feat in 2011 World Cup against Ireland.
