PM says EU can fill the void left by United States in Paris deal

The Prime Minister has said that the European Union can fill the void left by the United States in the Climate Change deal. Speaking at a summit held in Paris, Joseph Muscat said that the EU can take USA's place and lead in this sector.

Malta is committed to work positively in this regard, he said while reaffirming Malta's commitment to reduce sea pollution. He said that the Maltese government is aiming at reducing plastic waste by collecting 70% of plastic generated in the country.

"The EU leaders who attended this summit have shown a sign of unity and support to the French President. While it is not a good thing to see the United States leave the deal, the EU can now take advantage to fill this void."
