Here are some Houstonians not paying attention and almost losing their lives and others.
Media: METRO HoustonHoustonians deal with some of the worst traffic, construction and road rage across the nation but some commuters have no excuse when it comes to accidents with the METRORail.
The video above was released Tuesday by METRO Houston, which is the region's public transportation system, showing that commuters need to be safe and alert along the METRORail line.

METRO even offers some tips for pedestrians and motorists that seem to be basic, but after watching the video, seem necessary to repeat.

... more1. When crossing intersections with rail tracks, it's best to look both ways and if there's an approaching train, we must wait for it to pass through or come to a complete stop.
2. Drivers must obey traffic signs. When turning left on rail tracks, we must pay attention, and we should ALWAYS look to make sure it is safe to make that turn.
