NEW DELHI: Shares of Ausom Enterprise, W S Industries (I), The Motor & General Finance, Chromatic India, Repro India, Celebrity Fashions and Emco cracked over 9 per cent in Tuesday's trade.

Equity benchmarks remained in the negative zone owing to selling across sectors. All sectoral indices were in the red on NSE around 3 pm.

The Nifty50 index was 79 points down at 10,242, while the Sensex was 225 points down at 33,230 around that time.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Bharti Infratel, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Indian Oil Corporation, Eicher Motors and Coal India were among the top losers in the Nifty50 index, each cracking over 2 per cent.

On the other hand, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, GAIL (India) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation were the top gainers, each gaining over 2 per cent.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 14 were in the green, while 36 were in the red.
