But this morning it has been claimed the fight also started after insults were hurled at Ibrahimovic.

Marca reports players told him: "Ibra, you talk a lot but you move a little."

Brazilian keeper Ederson was said to have taken objection with Mourinho, with the pair both able to speak Portuguese.
Since the brawl, pundit Ian Wright has defended City's players and said Man Utd overreacted.

Wright said: "It's just hilarious on so many levels, I don't think you can blame City.
"People are accusing them of not having class, they are saying you don't know how to act when you win, but you've got to take into consideration they have just broken a record, the 14 wins, against their biggest rivals.
"Maybe Jose should have said can you hear that next door? Can you see what they're doing?"
