Tottenham’s new £750million stadium will copy Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium in having a glass-walled window suite which will allow supporters to watch the goings-on of players in the tunnel.

Manchester United and City players and staff were embroiled in a furious bust-up after the derby on Sunday.

Milk was thrown at Jose Mourinho and Mikel Arteta had his head cut by a water bottle.

But Pochettino say the funny side.

“Maybe we will paint it black!” he said when asked about next season’s glass screen in the tunnel.

“Or maybe have curtains that are open during, but at half-time and full-time closed.

“Or maybe you have to pay double to have the curtains open!”

Pep Gaurdiola, meanwhile, dismissed Jose Mourinho’s insults that City’s celebrations were due to poor “behaviour and education” by saying they have nothing to be ashamed of.

Guardiola admitted it was he who encouraged City’s post-match celebrations which included playing his favourite Oasis songs at high volume but that they were not excessive.

He said United would have been just as exuberant had they won such an important Premier League game.

Up to 20 players and coaching staff were alleged to have been involved in the fracas, which took place when Mourinho put his head round the City dressing room door after Sunday’s match, which United lost 2-1, and had an angry exchange with goalkeeper Ederson.

“I’m the guy who encouraged them to celebrate in that moment, but, of course, inside the locker room,” Guardiola said.

“Believe me, the celebrations were not too much.

“It was correct. We hugged, we jumped because we were happy. All teams around the world, here, in Germany, in Spain and Italy, the teams would be happy to win a derby.

“We have huge respect for our opponents, not just for Manchester United. What happened, happened. We will make a statement to the FA and they will decide.”

United manager Mourinho, who has already accused City of showing a lack of respect, went further on Tuesday.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s match against Bournemouth, he said: “The only thing I can say is that for me it was just a question of diversity – diversity in behaviours, of opinion, of education, just that and nothing more than that.”

He said United behaved in the right way when they won at Arsenal a week earlier.

“What we did in the Arsenal stadium, you know, it was completely diverse. What we did, what happened after that match, the way we behaved as winners.”

And he insisted Romelu Lukaku – who is alleged to have thrown a water bottle in the rumpus – was innocent: “Accuse? Prove? Show evidence and punish him.”

Asked if his players have behaved correctly he said: “I am not confident – I know.”
