Star Wars 8: 'Why did they change THIS?' Mark Hamill reveals ORIGINAL storyline

STAR WARS 8 legend Mark Hamill has revealed there was a very different original story plan and he is not happy with some of the changes.

With just a few days to go until Episode 8 hits cinemas, fans are desperate to know the answers to some huge questions.

The promo materials and director Rian Johnson have already revealed that major storylines will be resolved with a few shocks along the way.

Hamill, however, wishes that certain things had been done differently.

The Star Wars legend has revealed his unhappiness with some of the changes made by the new trilogy.

According to Metro, Hamill revealed that George Lucas had laid down a plan for the final trilogy.

Hamill said: “What I wish is that they had been more accepting of his (George Lucas) guidance and advice. Because he had an outline for ‘7,’ ‘8,’ and ‘9’. And it is vastly different to what they have done."

Originally the Star Wars creator had believed there was no potential storyline remaining for another three movies. However, when Lucasfilm was bought out by Disney, Lucas submitted an outline for the new trilogy.

Lucas' vision is believed to have revolved around new young characters.

Back in 2015, when The Force Awakens was being filmed, Vanity Fair reported that Disney and Lucasfilm had moved away from this vision when setting up Episode 7 with JJ Abrams.

The magazine reported: "Lucas’s treatment had centered on very young characters— teenagers, Lucasfilm told me —which might have struck Disney executives as veering too close for comfort to The Phantom Menace and its 9-year-old Anakin Skywalker and 13-year-old Queen Amidala."

Apparently, the new Disney and Lucasfilm bosses were understandably concerned not to repeat some of the issues caused by the young Anakin and Padme characters in the prequel trilogy.

Hamill has already famously revealed his initial unhappiness with Luke's new story arc in the latest movies but acknowledged that the new direction has paid off.

Does he think the same about the changes made from Lucas' plans?

Hamill has been diplomatic.

He added: “But then again, I don’t want to be an old stick in the mud. There were the originals. There’s the prequels. But that’s all George. And now we have the next generation. And as far as I can see they are more popular than ever.”

There is no denying the enormous box office and popular cultural impact of the new trilogy and in three days fans will be able to judge for themselves if the latest movie will do justice to the Star wslegacy.
