The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL were launched in India almost two months back and now, Google is ready to make the user experience even better by improving features, providing new updates and the upgrade to Oreo 8.1

The biggest thing right now hitting the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL is probably the availability of AR stickers. These AR stickers can be added to photos and videos. Users can team up with “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” characters like BB-8 and R2-D2, or even stage fun moments with Eleven, the Demogorgon, and other characters from Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’. Or use Foodmoji stickers to make it clear that you’re feeling hungry, 3D Text for when you really want to title your life, or shoot a celebratory video at a New Year’s party complete with animated AR balloons, cake, and champagne. So, with AR stickers and animated emojis, Google is facing off with Apple’s animoji. But, just like animoji is an exclusive feature, the AR stickers will work on Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL only, running Android 8.1.

Google Lens is a new feature, introduced as a part of the Google Assistant on Pixel. Users can just open the Google Assistant or squeeze the Pixel to activate the Assistant and tap the Lens button to get started. Google Lens can help users know more about the things around them, also, it is useful for saving information like phone numbers, emails, Wi-Fi passwords and more.

The Google Assistant also lets users broadcast their voice from Pixel to Google Home devices, and now the Google Assistant speaks Spanish and Italian.

Android Oreo 8.1 hits the market, starting off with Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The Oreo 8.1 brings the new SmartSelect feature which recognizes text when long pressed, highlights the relevant words, and then provide suggestions like looking up a place in Google Maps, calling up a phone number or sending an email to someone. Oreo 8.1 also brings Wi-Fi speed labels, which lets users know how fast nearby Wi-Fi networks show how fast nearby networks are.

Also, there is a predefined limit to determine how fast the network it, here are the parameters.

  • Slow = 0 – 1 Mbps
  • OK = 1 Mbps – 5 Mbps
  • Fast = 5 Mbps – 20 Mbps
  • Very Fast = 20 Mbps+

With these new features and updates, Google is hoping to attract more and more Pixel fans, who want a pure Android experience and early access to features like AR Stickers, Wi-Fi Speed Labels, Google Lens and more.
