HYDERABAD: Telangana State advocate CS Vaidyanathan resuming his cross-examination in Brijesh Kumar Tribunal tried to establish that the Andhra Pradesh diverted Krishna water to projects located in other than Krishna basin. The cross-examination, which started in November, resumed on Monday in Delhi. The TS’ argument was that the Krishna river was flowing most of the area in Telangana and it was not getting its quota of water. However, most of the Krishna water was being used by AP, where the length of Krishna river was less. If the TS established that AP diverted Krishna water outside the basin, then TS would get more share in the Krishna water.

The cross-examination in Tribunal on Monday are as follows. TS advocate Vaidyanathan asked questions to AP advocate KV Subbara Rao.  Some of the questions and answers are as follows:
Has Andhra Pradesh diverted any water for four projects during 2017-18.
A Water has been supplied to HNSS, GNSS and TGP

Do you know the quantum that has been diverted?
A I do not have the details right now.

I put it to you that 93 tmc as been diverted from Srisailam for these four projects up to December 10, 2017. What do you say?
I have to verify the figures.

When you said a littler while ago that flow this year was deficit i.e., less than normal, when and how was this decision taken to divert the flow to projects which are to be supplied water only when the flows exceeded 2,130 tmc?
A The State have the liberty to utilise waters out of the en bloc allocations. The drawls to various projects are with the knowledge of the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB).

Is it correct that the entirety of the areas serviced by GNSS and Veligonda  is outside the Krishna basin?
Yes

Is it correct that more than 90 per cent of the area serviced by HNSS scheme is outside the Krishna basin?
Yes

Is it correct that the capacity of Srisailam reservoir between +885 and +892 feet is 50 tmc?
I do not have the correct figure. But I may add that water is never stored between +885 and +892 feet
