Vemula Veeresham is accused of threatening a banker

A Whatsapp audio call of a TRS MLA using foul language and threatening a bank CEO to reinstate a suspended official has gone viral.

The five-and-a-half minute call conversation initiated by Narketpally MPP R. Mallikarjuna Reddy exposes Nakrekal constituency MLA Vemula Veeresham threatening the CEO of the District Cooperative Central Bank in Nemmani village.

Interspersed with foul language, the member was heard threatening the official to forward a file to reinstate a suspended officer of the bank. The call also has instructions to the bank CEO to go through the DCCB by-laws and that the chairman’s approval was not necessary in clearing the orders - a reason the official says was delaying the action. “Finish the work by Monday, else my coming there won’t take more than 30 minutes. Mallikarjuna will come to you,” the MLA tells the official. Clearing the air, the MLA who spoke to mediapersons in Nalgonda on Monday afternoon said his call was intended to help the physically-challenged woman secure her job, from which she was suspended two years ago on false allegations. “She came to me as a victim - depr essed, saying she wanted to commit suicide, hence I tried to help her,” he said. A year ago, Mr. Veeresham was caught in a similar phone conversation involving a contractor from A.P.
