The year 2017 is quickly coming to an end which means it's time to look back at the television shows that will not see 2018.
The series that ended this year did so for a variety of reasons: low ratings; narratives coming to a deliberate end; networks changing their direction and focus; in one case, the unexpected death of a series'; and in a pair of shocking instances, because of sexual harassment scandals, one of which occurred months before the #MeToo movement began threatening a number of other series.
The longest-running show that ended this year was "Charlie Rose," which after being on the air for 26 years was unceremoniously yanked from PBS' schedule following multiple sexual harassment allegations against its host, the titular Charlie Rose.
This fall some of your favorite tv shows are going off the air. Stay tuned to find out which ones.
Media: CountryLivingTwo shows tied for the shortest-lived series this year: CBS' Katherine Heigl legal drama, "Doubt," and Jeanine Pirro's reality series, "You the Jury," were both canceled after only two episodes.
One show that you won't find in the gallery above — but only by the skin of its teeth — is "Timeless." NBC announced that the freshman time travel series was canceled on May 10, but three days later reversed their decision and ordered a second season.
As for the rest of the series in the gallery, alas, their time has come.
