If any concert deserves a sequel, it’s Band Together Bay Area. The star-studded bill that brought together such local music titans as Metallica, Dead & Company and G-Eazy raised more than $17 million for the victims of the North Bay fires.
Now the organizers — a coalition of high-powered community leaders spearheaded by Tipping Point CEO Daniel Lurie — are doing it again with Red Hot Chili Peppers (with lead singer Anthony Kiedis, above), and support by Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real as well as Glide Ensemble, the San Francisco church’s choir.

Band Together 2 Bay Area, at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on Thursday, Dec. 14, promises another evening of good vibes for a good cause. Proceeds will again go to the Tipping Point Emergency Relief Fund to aid those hardest hit by the firestorm that swept through Wine Country in October.
Throw in a bunch of slap-bass-slathered hits like “By the Way,” “Can’t Stop” and “Californication,” and it’s hard to imagine a better way to “give it away, give it away, give it away now.”— Aidin Vaziri
