SLC Chairman's strange explanation to media unit's blunders 
Hiru 'Red Card' on 8th of this month disclosed many blunders mentioned in a media communique issued by the Sri Lanka Cricket following the completion of the 3-match Test series with India.
We pointed out the mistakes in both the Sinhala and English media releases issued by the SLC.
The details mentioned about Suranga Lakmal were also incorrect.
Last Saturday (09) following the Parliamentary debate on Budget, the journalists questioned the SLC Chairman, Thilanga Sumathipala about this.
Q: There was a media release with incorrect details!
A: "That was the view of 'Hiru'. Aren't those details true? There was no issue. We are at the 6th position in Test ranking. We need 2 more points to become 4th. What has happened here? Aren't we happy to say that our players are strong? When a record was established and made an announcement about it, it is not the talking point, but the spelling mistakes in the release. I don't see anything wrong with that letter. I saw 'Hiru' was criticizing it. If it is a national issue for 'Hiru'. We don't have any issue with it".
This was not the issue raised by us through our programme.
As a responsible media organization, we wanted to highlight the irresponsible acts of certain highly paid officials of Sri Lanka Cricket's Media Unit.
