Real Madrid step up chase for Alexis Sanchez
06.00: Real Madrid are set to increase their efforts to try and sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.
The Chilean is out of contract at the end of the season, along with German star Mesut Ozil, and it is widely reported that both players will leave in the winter window.
It is thought the Gunners hierarchy want to cash in on their two talisman instead of losing them for free at the end of the season.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon have suggest that Real are preparing to step up their interest in Sanchez.
The news comes after their number one target, Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi, became ‘too expensive’.
Griezmann blow
05:00: Barcelona have reportedly beaten Manchester United to the signing of Antoine Griezmann.
The France international was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford leading up to this past summer transfer window.
But Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban was upheld, leading to Griezmann announcing he would remain at Atletico due to the fact they would be unable to bring in a replacement.
And they may have to look for an alternative for Griezmann.
That’s because El Gol Digital claim the 26-year-old has a verbal agreement in place to join Barcelona.
Giroud told he’s going nowhere
03:00: Olivier Giroud has been told by Arsene Wenger that he will not be sold in the January transfer window.
The France international came off the bench to salvage a point for Arsenal in yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Southampton.
Just like last season, Giroud has struggled to find regular first team football at the Emirates and is yet to start a Premier League game this campaign.
He was reportedly close to joining Everton in the summer and his lack of game time has once again led to speculation surrounding his future.
But Wenger has insisted the striker is still a valuable member of his squad and will not be sold next month.
Wenger said: “In your question is the answer, because you say he is important, why should we lose an important player?”
Luke Shaw demands large payout to leave Old Trafford
01.00: Luke Shaw has demanded a £5million severance package to leave Old Trafford, according to reports.
It is widely thought that the Red Devils will try to offload Shaw in the January window.
However, his wages of £130,000-a-week, around £7m-a-year, would put off most suitors, either that or the 22-year-old would have to take a pay-cut to leave the club.
According to the Sun, United are hoping to recoup £20m for his signature.
But they are only willing to pay £2m to cover his loss of earnings if he was to move elsewhere.
That figure is apparently £3m shy of what Shaw demands.

Barcelona four-man shortlist
21.55: Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has a four-man transfer shortlist of key targets, according to reports in Spain.
Don Balon claim defensive dup Inigo Martinez and Aymeric Laporte are both being eyes as potential transfers.
And Valverde is also keen to shore up Barca’s right side with Real Sociedad full-back on the agenda.
The four-man list is closed out by Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler who has a £70million release clause.

Pjanic to Barcelona
20.00: Barcelona are weighing up a move for Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, instead of Philippe Coutinho, according to reports.
Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Barca know a deal for Coutinho will be complicated so they have begun to look at other options.
Pjanic is the newest name on the Catalan side’s transfer wishlist and he is reportedly keen on a move to the Nou Camp.
However, there are some reservations about him making the move in January - namely that he will be cup tied for the Champions League.
It is said he will cost in the region of £45m.
Kone to Everton?
19:15: Everton will be given the chance to sign Sunderland defender Lamine Kone on the cheap.
Toffees manager Sam Allardyce is considering a January move for the Ivory Coast international.
According to The Sun, he will look to bring Kone to Goodison Park if he proves his fitness.
Sunderland chiefs are happy to sanction a cut-price deal to get him off their wage bill.
Jose wants Milinkovic-Savic
17.40: Jose Mourinho is preparing to pay a club record £95million to lure Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Old Trafford.
Mourinho has had his scouts checking out the Serbian international and has decided that he wants to bring him to Old Trafford next summer.
But he will be forced to pay out more than the then world record £89.3million that they paid Juventus to re-sign Paul Pogba in August 2016.
Milinkovic-Savic only cost Lazio £16 million from Belgian side Genk in 2015 but is now one of the most sought after midfielders in Europe.
Manchester City have also been keeping tabs on the player along with Juventus but it is now United who are leading the race to sign him.
Arsenal identify options
17.15: Arsenal want to sign Paris Saint-Germain's Goncalo Guedes next summer as they look for replacements for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Arsenal are facing up to the prospect of losing Sanchez and Ozil in 2018 after failing to reach an agreement with the pair.
Despite months of discussions, neither player has committed their future and both could leave for free transfers.
Arsene Wenger has tried to give a positive outlook on the situation but behind the scenes, there is an acknowledgment Sanchez and Ozil are likely to depart.
And according to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are hopeful they can sign Guedes from PSG by taking advantage of their financial situation.
Guedes is currently on a season-long loan at Valencia where he has impressed alongside another loanee, Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira.
The report says PSG will need to offload players in the summer to meet UEFA’s demands.
De Gea makes Real demand
17.00: David de Gea has told Real Madrid he will leave Manchester United in the summer for a £250,000-a-week contract, according to reports in Spain.
De Gea has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid ever since his switch to the Bernabeu fell through in 2015.
The Manchester United No 1 has reportedly not given up hope of returning to Spain where he began his career with Atletico Madrid.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon claim he has once again been in contact with Real president Florentino Perez.
He is said to have held talks with the Bernabeu chief and told him he will leave Old Trafford for a £250,000-a-week contract.
However, the report suggests De Gea’s ‘come and get me’ plea may have fallen on deaf ears as Real are pursuing other targets.
Coutinho limit
16.45: Barcelona have set themselves a Philippe Coutinho limit for January.
According to Spanish publication Don Balon Barcelona are not ready to pay over the odds during the season.
Reports yesterday claimed Liverpool would be willing to discuss a deal for £120million.
But Barcelona are now reported to be willing to pay no more than £87m in the January window.
It is claimed they will consider alternatives if that is not enough and come back to Liverpool with another offer in the summer.
Barca made Coutinho their No 1 target in the summer and had three bids rejected, but are preparing another approach for next month.
Chelsea meeting
16.30: Chelsea have held a meeting over their pursuit of Leon Bailey, according to the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old is on the Blues’ radar as they look to add more fire-power in January.
Antonio Conte wants more options up top and is not convinced by Michy Batshuayi.
The Belgium striker could be sent out on loan with Bailey potentially coming in in January.
