DUBAI: An unemployed Arab, 34, caused losses of about Dhs600,000, to the telecommunications company for which he was working. He exploited his job’s powers at the company and sold 11,000 SIM cards for a lower market value causing financial loss to it.

The Internal Audit Manager of the Company testified that the defendant’s job in the company was to deal with the companies and receive requests for packages and SIM cards. He exploited the powers granted to access the company’s system, and sold 11,000 to one company for Dhs170,00, which was lower than their market value by Dhs600,000. The company which bought the SIM cards filed a complaint against the defendant with his company because he didn’t activate 2,000 SIM cards of what he had sold for it.
