The body of a Qualfon employee was this morning discovered in a cemetery at Triumph, East Coast Demerara with her face mutilated.
Dead is Raynelle Benfield, a resident of Lot 99 Canterbury Walk, Beterverwagting, ECD said to be in her 20’s.
Benfield was discovered lying face up around 8:15 am between two tombs in the cemetery which is located on eastern side of the Beterverwagting police station. Her hands were on her stomach and her pants were pulled below her hips.
Acting Crime Chief Paul Williams told Stabroek News that the discovery was made by a passerby.
Williams said initial reports revealed that Benfield was last seen alive by family members on Saturday morning when she left home for work.
