Coutinho fuming, Barca delighted…
10:00: Barcelona chiefs were delighted with Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave Philippe Coutinho on the bench for yesterday’s Merseyside derby, reports claim.
The German tactician made six changes to the starting line-up that crushed Spartak Moscow 7-0 last week - leaving hat-trick hero Coutinho on the bench.
Spanish newspaper Sport claim the Brazilian playmaker and his representatives were furious with Klopp’s decision.
And it will only serve to accelerate his January move to the Nou Camp.
Enrique to Chelsea…
09:45: Chelsea will sack Antonio Conte as soon as they are knocked out of the Champions League, according to reports in Spain.
Blues chief Roman Abramovich is said to be fed up with Conte and wants him gone as soon as their European run comes to an end.
And Don Balon claims ex-Barcelona boss Luis Enrique will take over for next season and contact has already been made.
It is claimed the dressing room is still with Conte but tensions have flared and the owner is ready to wield the axe again.
Conte’s future at Chelsea has been uncertain all season after he signed a new contract which didn’t extend his deal.
Champions League draw
09:30: The five English clubs who created history by qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages will learn their fate when the draw for the last 16 is held in Nyon, Switzerland, this morning.
Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea all qualified from their respective groups, making England the first country to have five teams in the competition's last 16.
Chelsea face a daunting tie, with Paris St Germain, Barcelona and Besiktas their only possible opponents when the draw is made at UEFA's headquarters at 11am GMT.
