MUMBAI: A sessions court here today remanded the 39-year-old man, arrested for allegedly molesting actor Zaira Wasim on-board a Delhi-Mumbai flight, in police custody till December 13.

Vikas Sachdev was arrested late last evening.

Sachdev was today presented before Judge A D Deo where Assistant Public Prosecutor Munna Inamdar sought his remand.

"Police need to verify the credentials of the accused, whether he is a repeat offender. The accused can influence the case since he holds a high position," Inamdar said while arguing before the court.

Sachdev has been booked under section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC, and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) since the actor is a minor.

The actor had alleged she was on a Vistara flight from Delhi to Mumbai on Saturday night when a co-passenger sitting behind her put his feet on her armrest.

"He kept nudging my shoulder and continued to move his foot up and down my back and neck," the Kashmiri teen, who shot to fame for her stellar performance in Aamir Khan's blockbuster "Dangal", said in an Instagram post soon after she alighted at the Mumbai airport.
