The brutal weather hit almost all of the country over the weekend and has continued to cause chaos today, especially in the West Midlands, as numerous schools have been forced to close due to the adverse conditions. 

However, Piers didn't seem to think it was as big a problem as people are making out and set about putting them right during his presenting duties earlier this morning.

Before co-host Susanna Reid, 47, threw to her colleagues across the country, her 52-year-old friend had something to say about it. 

"Can we get a grip when it snows a bit?" he started. 

Piers yelled: "If you go to somewhere like New York that has inches of snow drift, if the mayor hasn't got everything sorted then there would be hell on.

"I just worry that we will never be prepared," he insisted, while telling Susanna that he doesn't blame the British public, just the authorities for not acting sooner with gritters. 

Good Morning Britain then hit a rather chaotic junction as one of the roving reporters ran into a broken down vehicle engulfed in snow. 

The owner didn't appear to want to chat, as he covered his face, saying: "I don't want filming!"

Piers Morgan recovered the unplanned scene, and told viewers: "He was a brave valiant warrior who didn't want filming.

"I salute whoever you are and I salute your valiance."

Susanna joked that the ITV programme's gallery were sighing at her colleague's rant, to which he snapped: "Even they're snowflakes!"
