Lalit Modi's son welcomes BCCI revocation of RCA suspension

Ruchir Modi, President of Alwar District Cricket Association, has welcomed the revocation of suspension of the Cricket Association by the Board of Control for Cricket in (BCCI).

In a statement issued here today, Ruchir Modi hoped that with the release of withheld funds and grant of international matches and the Indian League, cricket in will return to its glory.

Ruchir Modi assured his full support to the present management of the RCA. He hoped cricket will the prime motive in the running of the association and that every stakeholder in the 33 district cricket associations, players, administrators and cricket lovers at large will be treated with respect and fairness.

acting president C K Khanna confirmed the revocation of the suspension of the RCA during the board's Special General Meeting (SGM) here today.

The RCA was suspended by the in May 2014 when former Indian League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi was re-elected as its president.

The elections were held again under the supervision of the High Court and Congress leader C P Joshi was declared the president in June this year, defeating Modi's son Ruchir.

Since its suspension in 2014, RCA's cricket affairs were being looked after by the Consequently, the RCA had filed a suit against its suspension by BCCI, to which the board had asked the association to withdraw all pending cases and to not involve the cricket board in any case.

Meanwhile, no international cricket match has been held in since then and even the matches were shifted out of Jaipur, which is the home of Royals.

The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) has already dissolved the adhoc committee that was constituted to run the affairs in cricket. This paved the way for revoking the ban.
