TRA wins two awards in IdeasUK Competition

DUBAI: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, TRA, has been awarded two prizes at the ideasUK Competition, held in Stratford, UK, in last November.

The TRA has been awarded the Gold Level Accreditation in Ideas Management and Innovation, through applying the best standards and practices that contribute to the introduction and adoption of innovative ideas, and turn them into practical solutions that reflect positively on the work environment in terms of improving productivity, increasing efficiency and reducing cost.

In line with TRA’s keenness to use modern technology in community service, TRA has been honored within the best three innovative ideas in the field of community services for ‘Hutaf’ initiative, which was launched recently in cooperation with Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club to support people of determination, specifically the blind and visually impaired. This initiative has been implemented by the Spectrum Management Affairs Department in TRA.

Speaking on the occasion, Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director-General, said, "This victory is the result of TRA’s efforts and ongoing initiatives in supporting and spreading the culture of innovation in all aspects of government work, in implementation of the leadership’s directives in this regard. In TRA, we are keen to use all smart technologies and modern solutions to serve the TRA goals of continuously improving the level of the telecommunication sector in the UAE, and maintaining the great gains achieved locally and globally."
