A deal to move a chairlift ride to the Saskatoon Exhibition Grounds has fallen through.
In May, Prairieland Park asked city council to build a 1,000-foot, permanent skyride chairlift on the fairgrounds.
Prairieland had approached the Western Fair in London, Ont. to buy its used chairlift and move it to the grounds. However, the deal has apparently fallen through.
"It just isn't available to us now," said spokesperson Kristy Rempel. "It's just no longer for sale."

Buying and installing the ride was estimated to cost $1.5 milion. The park said chairlift attractions had become very popular at other fairgrounds across the country, including the Calgary Stampede and Toronto's Canadian National Exhibition.
Prairieland leases the fairgrounds from the city, and needed to get permission to build any new structures.
The park is still planning to build a new 80,000-square-foot hall attached to its convention centre.
