Toronto Police homicide investigators have released several photos of a man they want to talk to about murder victim Tess Richey.

“It is believed that Tess Richey was in the company of an unknown male when her friend departed the area,” a police statement Sunday says. “She would have been in the company of this male on Church Street, in the areas of Wellesley Street and Dundonald Street, between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.”

Police described the man as white, about 5-foot-7 to 6-feet, with a slim build and light-coloured short hair.

“He’s a fellow that was seen with Tess that night so we need to identify who he is and speak to him,” Toronto Police Homicide Detective Ted Lioumanis said. “(The investigation) is moving forward, which is good.”

The man’s image was captured on security cameras.

Tess Richey, 22, vanished Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, after a night out at a bar in the Village with a friend and was found dead at an abandoned building near Church and Wellesley Sts. four days later.

Anyone with information is asked to contact homicide investigators at 416-808-7400, extension 7-7415, 7-7407, or 7-7287, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

Richey, 22, was reported missing at 3 a.m. on November 25 in the Church and Wellesley streets area.

Her mother found her body at a construction site on November 29 not far from where she was last seen.

The official cause of death was neck compression.

The incident sparked a professional standards probe after family members complained about the police response to Richey’s disappearance.
