Gurgaon: A 30-year-old woman, who is from a village in Palam Vihar area, has accused a man in the same village, who is a truck driver, of raping and blackmailing her for the last five years.
The woman approached police on Saturday and filed a complaint at Palam Vihar police station.
The woman, who is married, told the police that Rakesh, a truck driver, had come to her house on some pretext five years ago and raped her after drugging her. She said he made a video of her, and since has been using it to blackmail her. He threatened to defame her by posting the video on the internet and making it viral. He continued to rape her for five years, and threatened her with dire consequences.
The woman alleged that a few days ago, Rakesh waylaid and assaulted her once again. The complainant said she was scared to report the matter to the police because of the threats, but she finally mustered the courage and informed her family before approaching the police.
Police said the woman had not provided any video or photographs yet. Her statement was recorded in front of the magistrate on Sunday. Based on the woman's complaint, an FIR was lodged against Rakesh under IPC sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
"We registered a complaint as soon as we got it. Now we will follow what further information is provided to us and investigate the case," said SHO of Palam Vihar police station, Vikram Nehra.
Police said that the accused has been absconding. "We are yet to trace and arrest him," said Nehra.
