After weeks of speculations, one of India’s most popular couples – Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma – got married in a private ceremony in Italy.

Now, it can be officially confirmed. After weeks of speculations, one of India’s most-loved couples – Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma – have tied the knot in a private ceremony in Florence (the capital city of Tuscany) Italy. The wedding ceremony took place earlier this morning with only close family and friends present at the function. Apparently, the marriage was a private affair, but was solemnized as per all Hindu rituals.
“Although the marriage was an extremely close-knit affair, the couple plans to throw a grand reception in Mumbai later this month where all the members of the Indian cricket team will be present since they will be town for a match against Sri Lanka scheduled for December 22,” says an insider. The reception will also be attended by Anushka’s friends from the film industry.
The Indian cricket captain and Bollywood actor started dating after they met on the sets of a shampoo ad shoot. After that, their relationship had their share of ups-and-downs especially after critics as well as trolls criticising Anushka for Virat’s poor performance as a batsman. Soon after there were rumours of an alleged breakup between the two, but neither of them ever spoke openly about their relationship.
Recently, Virat during an interview on Gaurav Kapoor’s chat show, Breakfast with Champions, said Anushka has turned him into a more sensible and patient guy in the past four years they have been dating. “Ever since the lady has come into my life, she’s taught me a lot of things. I’ve learnt a lot, become more sensible in the last four years all because of her. She’s taught me how to be more patient and taught me how to utilise the position you are in to the fullest,” he said.
