HYDERABAD: Taking inspiration from a hit Telugu flick, 'Yevadu' in which one of Tollywood's leading star Allu Arjun undergoes plastic surgery to resemble his co-star Ramcharan Tej, a woman disfigured her lover's face so that the latter undergoes plastic surgery and take the place of her husband.

The woman and her lover had earlier killed the husband and burnt the body in a forest. The entire drama enacted by the duo started to unravel slowly as the deceased person's family members slowly got suspicious over the behaviour of their 'son' who was replaced by the lover. By the time they sensed that something is fishy, they had already spent Rs 5 lakh on the treatment of the lover.

The incident took place in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana. The woman, Swathi, was married to a person Sudhakar Reddy some years back and they had two children. However, in the recent past, Swathi met Rajesh and their friendship slowly turned into an illicit relation. Swathi and Rajesh decided to live together and for this, they decided to eliminate Sudhakar Reddy.

On November 26, 2017, Swathi and Rajesh attacked Sudhakar Reddy with a blunt weapon on the head while he was sleeping and later shifted the body to Maisamma reserve forest area of Fatehpur mandal and burnt it down.

Two days later, Swathi disfigured Rajesh's face by pouring acid on him and claimed before the family members that it was Sudhakar Reddy who had suffered burns in an attack by unknown persons when he was in Hyderabad. Managing to convince her in-laws, Swathi got Rajesh admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad itself.

According Nagarkurnool district additional SP Jogu Chennaiah, believing the version of Swathi, her in-law's spend nearly Rs 5 lakh on treatment for the injured person. As the treatment started, Sudhakar Reddy's mother noticed the changes in her 'son' and informed the police.

During investigation, Swathi revealed the entire plot and said she killed her husband and then adopted the 'Yevadu' storyline to live with Rajesh. Swathi was arrested by the police and the remains of her husband's body recovered from the forest area. Rajesh is still undergoing treatment.

'Yevadu' is a 2014 action thriller starring Allu Arjun, Ram Charan Teja, Shruti Haasan and Amy Jackson.
