Rocket League's big Christmas event is about to begin, as Psyonix launches the Frosty Fest on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Rocket League's Frosty Fest has been given a December 11 release date in North America, where it will go live at 5pm PST.

The bad news for UK fans is that because of the time difference, they'll have to wait until December 12 at 1am GMT.

The Frosty Fest Christmas event has a January 2 end date and a 6pm GMT end time.

According to Psyonix, Frosty Fest shares similarities with the .

The biggest difference is that Snowflakes will replace Candy Corn as in-game currency.

"Are you ready for Yuletide aerials and Goal Explosions (literally) chock full of presents and cheer?" Psyonix asks. "Then get ready for Frosty Fest in Rocket League."

"Frosty Fest is based on the same kind of in-game Event you experienced previously with Haunted Hallows back in October.

"As you'd expect, the Event format is the same as Haunted Hallows, with ‘Snowflakes’ currency replacing the Candy Corn you earned with every completed Online Match.

"You can redeem Snowflakes to purchase Event items, Decryptors, or the brand new ‘Frosty Fest’ Event Crate!"

There are three different ways to nab the Frosty Fest loot crate.

It can be purchased with Snowflakes, bought with cash and sometimes even drops after online matches.

Based on Haunted Hallows feedback, Psyonix has also tweaked the number of Decryptors players can obtain.

"Finally, we’ve heard your feedback after the conclusion of our Haunted Hallows Event last month, and we’re making some changes based on that feedback, including how many Decryptors can be obtained," Psyonix adds.
